music, including a multi-pierced gothic dude who was brought on stage to be handcuffed
to the lead singer’s mike stand throughout the song.
Kittie are Fallon Bowman (guitar, vocals), Mercedes Lander (drums, rape - hey I got
that off the Kittie website), sisters Morgan (vocals, guitar) and Tanya Candler (who
has since left, replaced by baby-faced bassist Talena).
On their debut NG/Artemis record release "Spit", produced by GGGarth Richardson
(Rage Against The Machine, L7, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ozzy), these cute kitties rock
serious cock, while remaining girlish all the same. The songs are heavy but not tuneless,
and there are memorable riffs to boot. The vocals switch from a Hole-ish whine to
a roaring lionesque metal growl. With songs like "Get Off (You Can Eat a Dick)",
"Suck," "Choke," and "Do You Think I’m A Whore?", these
Kitties don't just purr.....they kick ass, squeeze balls, and want to have sex with
your dead body.
